Biography

Before joining the Sotos Law Firm in 2018, George was a successful civil litigator for the City of Chicago Law Department for twenty years, representing the City in cases involving allegations of police misconduct under federal law. George developed and implemented the City’s litigation strategy in collaboration with the Chicago Police Department, the former Independent Police Review Authority, and the City Council. He also was lead attorney for the City on some of its most challenging and high-profile cases involving systemic policing issues. In addition, George is an accomplished scholar and teacher. His doctoral dissertation was published by a university press, and he has designed and taught numerous undergraduate courses in religious studies and in constitutional law.
