Joe has been representing law enforcement for over twenty years. His legal career started at the City of Chicago Law Department as an assistant corporation counsel. He attained the position of Chief Assistant Corporation Counsel for a trial division representing law enforcement and other municipal employees in all aspects of civil rights and tort litigation in federal and state courts. He became a Special Litigation Counsel representing the City and law enforcement in wrongful death, reversed conviction, and other complex, high-exposure civil rights and tort litigation in federal court and worked in that capacity for four years before returning to his position as a Chief in the Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division. Joe has tried several civil rights cases against law enforcement to verdict over the course of his career. He received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1990, and his B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 1984.
